Kerry Choral Union are delighted to welcome back to Tralee the Zupforchester des Differter Saitenspielkreis e.V. in October. This acclaimed plucked string orchestra is from the town of Differten in southwest Germany. It has musicians that range in age from 13 to 60 years and many are also members of the German Youth Orchestra. Two of the members won first prize in the German Young Musician of the Year 2016. They play a varied style of music that ranges from classical and baroque to folk and modern. The orchestra contains a variety of instruments that include guitars, mandolin, bass guitar, flute and percussion.
The orchestra last visited Tralee as guests of Kerry Choral Union in 2006. They will share a stage together again on Wednesday 12th October 2016 in The Rose Hotel Tralee. “This concert will be a wonderful opportunity for any student of a stringed instrument to experience” said Joe Cotter of Kerry Choral Union, “We are delighted to welcome our friends-in-music back to Tralee and look forward to a wonderful evening of music and song together.
